Celtic's transfer activity over the last few seasons has come under intense scrutiny from the the club's support, particularly this season. Mark Lawwell lost his job as Head of Recruitment amidst mounting criticism over many of the transfers concluded under his watch, and Celtic look set to have an incredibly busy summer ahead in an effort to turn around some of this poor business.
The team hasn't performed to its optimum since Brendan Rodgers returned, with fans witnessing a massive drop-off from the treble-winning side of last season. With the League Cup already handed back, the Hoops find themselves embroiled in an incredibly tight title race; a predicament that most Celtic supporters would argue is of their own making.
One of the main problems with this Celtic team has been the struggle for goals. Brendan Rodgers hasn't been able to get Kyogo Furuhashi back to his brilliant best, and Oh Hyeon-gyu doesn't look to be favoured by the manager, with the Korean never being able to find consistent form when given the opportunity.
Adam Idah arrived on loan in January from Norwich City, and whilst he has turned in some impressive performances for the Hoops, Celtic made a big mistake in not adding an option-to-buy clause into the Irishman's contract. This has left the club wide open to Norwich demanding an inflated fee if the 23-year-old continues to impress.
All of the above-mentioned factors point to Celtic making a move for another striker this summer, and the champions have been linked with a number of candidates over the last few months. Rodgers may have to spend big money to address the problem position, but who could Celtic look to bring in?
Mathias Kvistgaarden
The Dane's name will be familiar to those who have closely followed Celtic's transfer rumours over the last two windows, with the Brondby striker being constantly linked with a move to Parkhead.
A £4million offer was sent Brondby's way in the summer but it was swiftly rebuffed by the Danish side, and Celtic's renewed interest in January was once again swatted away, with Rodgers eventually moving for Adam Idah instead.
A Danish Under-21 international with 14 goal contributions in 20 Superliga games, don't be surprised to see Celtic make a move for him once again this summer.
Bojan Miovski
Brendan Rodgers is reportedly an admirer of Aberdeen's North Macedonian forward as he sent a number of scouts to watch him play in the first-half of this season.
In an underperforming Dons side this season, Miovski has been one of the only shining lights, grabbing 22 goals in 43 games. If Celtic are serious about signing the 24-year-old, they would need to offer Aberdeen a club record fee to top the £4.2million they received from Liverpool for Calvin Ramsay.
