AND THEN THERE WERE FIVE. FIRST STOP: DENS PARK

After playing second fiddle to the league leaders for a few weeks, Celtic got back into pole position after Rangers slipped to a defeat in Dingwall, followed by a draw in Dundee.

The location of where the title lands at the end of the season is now firmly in Celtic's hands, and the Hoops now know the fixtures they will have to navigate in order to reach the promised land at the end of the season.

Given how the fixtures panned out heading into the split, the champions will have the advantage of playing three home games and two away, whilst Rangers will play three away games and two at Ibrox.

Celtic's first post-split fixture takes Brendan Rodgers' men on a trip to Dens Park to face Dundee, who have enjoyed a phenomenal first season back in the Premiership.

A pair of tough home games follow against second-placed Rangers and third-placed Hearts, who join Lazio as the only sides to beat Celtic home and away this season. The Rangers game is huge for all the usual reasons, with a title pendulum swing thrown in for good measure.

The always-troubling trip to Rugby Park is the penultimate fixture of the season, with Derek McInnes' side having won both meetings between the two teams in Ayrshire this season.

The final league fixture will be against St Mirren, with the Hoops hoping that they will be lifting the league title for the third season in-a-row against the Buddies.

With five to play, what is the burning question Celtic fans are asking?

Can Celtic win the league against Rangers at Parkhead?

Who remembers Mikael Lustig in a police hat? That was six years ago and came in Celtic's 5-0 demolition of Rangers to win the title at Celtic Park.

It was the club's seventh consecutive title in a run that took us to nine. We looked so far ahead of Rangers on that afternoon of 29th April 2018 that it is still astonishing that we failed to make it ten-in-a-row.

Plenty of variables would have to fall into Celtic's favour for that to happen again. Not Lustig in a police hat; Celtic to beat Rangers to win the league in Paradise.

For this to happen, Celtic would have to stick to their winning ways and hope Rangers continue to drop points, as they have done in three of their last four league games.

Who are the three remaining Celts from that victory?

Six years seems like a lifetime in football terms, particularly when you read through Celtic's starting XI the day we demolished Rangers 5-0 to secure seven in-a-row.

Scott Bain sat on the bench as the backup goalie that day. Remarkably, if he takes his usual position on the bench in tomorrow's match against his former club, and he fails to make an appearance, it will be his 200th game for Celtic as an unused substitute.

James Forrest started and scored Celtic's third goal just before half-time. The 32-year-old has gone on to play 488 games for the club, scoring 106 goals and chipping in with an impressive 102 assists.

Callum McGregor will captain Celtic tomorrow, and he also scored the last time Celtic wrapped the league up with a victory against our city rivals. Callum's strike was Celtic's fifth and came just 53 minutes into the game. At the age of 30, McGregor has now made 458 appearances for Celtic, scoring 64 goals and contributing 76 assists.
