Celtic's transfer business has been heavily criticised over the last few windows, with a number of positions not being adequately addressed and a number of the signings made being far from good enough to make the grade at Celtic Park.
The poor transfer dealings resulted in Mark Lawwell eventually losing his Head of Recruitment role, and it will be interesting to see the approach that the club takes to the upcoming summer transfer window.
One of the key positions that Lawwell failed to adequately address was the defence, with the likes of Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke being nowhere near the Celtic starting eleven for most of this season.
One of the biggest failings under Lawwell's watch, though, was the Argentine left-back Alexandro Bernabei, who has now been bombed out of the club on loan to Internacional in Brazil.
Celtic have been looking to provide competition for Greg Taylor for a while now, and whilst Bernabei failed to be the left-back to provide that, the club may have found their man for the job this summer.
Hugo Bueno rumours
Celtic are reportedly looking at Wolves' left-back Hugo Bueno to solve their left-back problem this summer. This isn't the first time that the club has made a move for Bueno's signature, with Brendan Rodgers targeting the Spaniard in January as a potential loan signing until the end of the season.
That move didn't materialise, leaving Greg Taylor as the only first-team left-back at the club.
Not currently holding up a starting position for the Premier League side, Bueno could look to make a move to pastures new, and Celtic could be the perfect club for the Spaniard to get some first-team football.
Who is Hugo Bueno?
Wolves signed the 21-year-old for a cut-price fee in the summer of 2019, and his football career has seen a swift change at the Premier League side.
Initially starting out as an attacking midfielder, Bueno has adjusted to fill in as a left wing-back for Gary O'Neill's outfit, and his attacking quality could heavily benefit a Celtic side that will be dominating and attacking for the most part in their domestic outings.
Featuring primarily for Wolves' development squad in the Premier League 2, Bueno was one of the standouts in that team, and was rewarded with some first-team opportunities towards the end of 2022. He has featured sporadically for the first-team since then, but the quality of left-wing back Rayan Ait-Nouri has been preventing him from really breaking through at Wolves.
Capped for the Spain Under-21s, there is clearly potential for Bueno to turn into an established first-team player, he just needs the game-time to prove it. Celtic should definitely be looking to add more competition for Greg Taylor this summer, and bringing in a young and hungry full-back to challenge him for that place could also bring the best out of the Scotland international once again.
