CELTIC VS LIVINGSTON PLAYER RATINGS: MAEDA HAT-TRICK SENDS HOOPS TO HAMPDEN

Celtic ensured that they would make their first trip to Hampden Park this season as Daizen Maeda was the hat-trick hero against Livingston in the Scottish Cup quarter-final.

The Hoops took the lead early on through Maeda, but Livingston equalised shortly after through Dan McKay. Maeda would add a second after some disastrous defending from the away side that saw Celtic take a 2-1 lead into the break.

Alarm bells began to ring when Teden Yengi capitalised on a rare Matt O'Riley error to bring the Lions level once again, but late goals from Maeda and substitute Kyogo Furuhashi saw Celtic seal their place in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Here are A Celtic State of Mind's player ratings from today's victory.

Joe Hart - 6: Hart couldn't do a lot to deal with Livingston's goals, but he did make some massive saves to ensure Celtic didn't go behind in the second-half.

Alistair Johnston - 6: The Canadian got his positioning all wrong for Livingston's first goal of the afternoon, focusing on his man instead of holding the line that allowed Dan McKay to ghost in behind.

Stephen Welsh - 4: An injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers meant Welsh returned to the starting lineup, and the academy product struggled to get to grips with the game as the visitors caused him plenty of problems.

Liam Scales - 5: Scales's passing was all over the place earlier today, with Yengi causing the Irishman all sorts of problems on the day.

Greg Taylor - 6: Taylor turned in a steady performance down the left-side, but he wasn't as involved in the attacking play as he usually is.

Tomoki Iwata - 7: Iwata returned to form with a solid defensive performance, clearing up a lot of the danger posed to the Celtic backline. Not usually known for his attacking play, he made a brilliant driving run forward to assist Maeda's third goal.

Matt O'Riley - 5: A rare lapse in judgement from the Dane led to Livi's second equaliser of the afternoon, and the Dane hasn't really got going in the second half of the season.

Paulo Bernardo - 5: The Portuguese was hooked for the second game in a row, with his only real involvement being a shot the smacked Michael McGovern's crossbar.

Nicolas Kuhn - 7: The German has come under fire for recent displays, but he looked like a completely different player today as he constantly caused problems for Livingston, providing an excellent assist for Daizen Maeda.

Adam Idah - 5: Idah was virtually anonymous against Livingston, a far-cry from the influence he has posed in recent weeks, with a big missed chance in the first-half being his only involvement in the game.

Daizen Maeda - 8: Not usually known for clinical finishing, Daizen Maeda showed just that against the visitor's as he grabbed a hat-trick as well as being his usual energetic self down the left-flank.

Substitutes

Daniel Kelly - 4: Kelly was thrown on for Paulo Bernardo on the hour mark but couldn't have much of an impact on the game.

Kyogo Furuhashi - 5: Kyogo grabbed a late goal from the bench in what was the final act of the afternoon.

James Forrest - 4: Forrest was brought on late in the game as Rodgers' final roll of the dice.
