DOES NICOLAS KUHN KEEP HIS PLACE IN THE TEAM AGAINST ST JOHNSTONE?

Celtic welcome the visit of Craig Levein's St Johnstone side to Celtic Park this weekend, and in a rather unusual twist, most Celtic supporters would be very happy to see Nicolas Kuhn keep his place on the team sheet for the match against the Saints.

Nicolas Kuhn had endured a very tough start to life at Celtic. After scoring a heavily deflected goal on his debut, the former Rapid Vienna winger turned in a number of lacklustre displays which led to many Celtic supporters questioning whether he was really a Celtic quality player or not.

£3.5million was looking like just another waste of money on another flop, with Kuhn's lack of strength as well as a hesitancy to run at an opponent all proving to really frustrate the support.

However, he may have begun to turn his fortunes around with his display against Livingston at the weekend. He finally demonstrated a willingness to get forward that we have all been desperate to see, as he used his pace to burn Christian Montano time and time again down that right flank.

Whilst he was beating his man often, his final ball was lacking on most occasions, aside from the incredible assist he served up for Daizen Maeda's opening goal.

It was the first glimpses of the £3.5million player that we have been waiting to see, but does he keep his place in the team for the visit of St Johnstone to Parkhead this weekend.

There is a little more room for rotation when it comes to the Scottish Cup, but Brendan Rodgers will have to go full strength when it comes to facing the Saints, and it looks likely there will be room for the German winger in the starting lineup.

Injury for Luis Palma

Reports from the Scottish Sun are suggesting that Luis Palma sustained a knock in training and that is the reasoning for the Honduran missing out on the match-day squad for the Scottish Cup quarter-final clash with Livingston last weekend.

Brendan Rodgers is remaining hopeful that Palma will make the squad this weekend, but rumours are suggesting that Palma could be out of action until after the international break.

It's another injury in a season where Celtic have never seemed to have been without them, with the 24-year-old joining Callum McGregor, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate who are all currently on the sidelines.

With the title race heating up, the importance of Celtic having players available is paramount, and we will have to wait and see if Palma makes the squad this weekend.

No Room for 'Best Winger' Forrest

Eyebrows were raised when James Forrest made what is a rare appearance these days as he took to the field and provided an assist against the Lions at the weekend.

Brendan Rodgers touched on his performance after the game, and he surprisingly stated that when it comes to wing play and quality, Forrest is the best at the club.

Usually you would be playing your best winger at the club week in week out, and Forrest hasn't started a match for Celtic since a 2-0 Champions League Group Stage loss to Lazio at the tail-end of November, which makes that statement even more baffling.

Whilst Forrest did make a positive impact from the bench, Nicolas Kuhn is likely to have a larger part to play than Forrest in the long-term future, so it looks likely that Nicolas Kuhn will keep his place in the team this weekend.
