HOW WINNING MENTALITY CAN LEAD CELTIC TO A DOUBLE

The title race is heading down to the wire and Celtic have just five games remaining to secure the double.

The momentum took a massive swing in Celtic's favour after Rangers dropped five points in their away trips to Dingwall and Dundee, leaving the champions in the driving seat to go on and secure a third league title in-a-row.

Celtic's dramatic Scottish Cup semi-final victory over Aberdeen only served as a further reminder that, whilst the fate of the league title may be in Celtic's hands, there is still the potential for a slip up in the final five games.

It's important that Celtic remain focused on the task at hand as getting ahead of themselves could prove costly, and Brendan Rodgers has been reinforcing that same message when speaking to the media ahead of what will be a hectic few weeks for Celtic.

It hasn't just been the manager reaffirming that belief either, as the players who have been there and done it all in Scotland before know exactly what it takes to win a league title as well.

Rodgers had previously stated that this is the point in the season where Celtic comes alive, and he doubled down on that statement when he stated, "That is the expectation. We are not here on holiday.

"We are here to win and we are here to win in the best possible fashion that we can. That has always been my mantra. We are not just here to win, we are here to win in the best way possible.

"I think we sense that and we feel that as a club. Everything is in our hands to achieve what we want to achieve, and that is what we are focusing on."

Cameron Carter-Vickers knows what it takes to win title in Scotland, having already secured two of them during his time at Parkhead, and in his first season at the club he scored a decisive winning goal at Ibrox to really propel Celtic towards regaining that Premiership crown.

The American isn't getting ahead of himself with the current gap that Celtic have at the summit of the table, saying, “We’ve got our place in one cup final. Does it feel like we have five more in the league before then? 100 per cent. We will probably need to win all of our games in the league to get to where we want to be.

"It’s still tight in the table as three points is nothing. That’s one game. They are all big games coming up now.”

After stumbling earlier in the season and looking like they lacked that ruthlessness needed to win this league championship, Celtic have rediscovered their mojo once again at a pivotal point in the season.

The importance of maintaining that laser focus will be drummed into them by a manager who has run this race before, and he has enough leaders in his dressing room to ensure that we don't fall at any of the final five hurdles.
