Brendan Rodgers was speaking to the media today ahead of tomorrow's visit of St Johnstone to Celtic Park.
The manager has never lost a game against the Perthshire side as Celtic manager, and he will be hoping to keep that record intact with the title race intensifying as we get closer and closer to the end of the season.
Celtic have suffered a number of injuries this season, with there rarely being a moment in which the former Leicester City boss has been able to field. full-strength eleven.
Those injuries are only continuing as Brendan Rodgers delivered a squad update as well as touching on other interesting topics in his most recent pre-match press conference.
Here are the key talking points from the manager ahead of tomorrow's cinch Premiership clash against St Johnstone.
Injuries Proving To Be Frustrating
As previously mentioned, injuries have been a problem that have plagued the champions this season.
High-profile players such as Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate and now Charlotte player Liel Abada have all heavily affected the squad this season, and Brendan Rodgers delivered an update on his squad.
The manager announced that Liam Scales suffered an injury in training that means he will miss tomorrow's game, leaving the gaffer with a real head-scratcher as to who to field at centre-back.
He will be boosted with the return of Cameron Carter-Vickers, with the American international in contention for tomorrow's game.
On the injury issues, the manager stated "That's been the biggest frustration over the course of the season, having not been able to put out our strongest XI."
Missing captain Callum McGregor would not have been in his plans, but Rodgers delivered a positive update saying "He is feeling good but he needs to get some clearance work in over the next week to 10 days and we will assess it for the Livingston game when we get back,"
Quizzed on O'Riley's future
The gaffer was quizzed on the future of midfielder Matt O'Riley, with the Dane missing out on the most recent Danish national squad selection and receiving interest in his services in January from Spanish clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Girona.
Rodgers put down the question, stating 'Yeah, listen I speak with the players.
"I don't need to address anything that is not there. We are not even at the end of the season yet for one. Our focus is on the final part of the race."
Use of Academy Talent
Daniel Kelly has seen a number of opportunities in the first-team over the last few weeks, and many were caught off guard when the manager opted to turn to the youngster to change the game at Tynecastle rather than the likes of Luis Palma on the bench.
Rodgers defended his decision after it came under some criticism, stating “I read somewhere the other week, that we were actually being criticised for bringing a young player into the team which I find incredible. We brought Daniel Kelly on against Hearts – it was supposedly not what should’ve been done.
“Thankfully I look after the short and the longer term of the club, and that’s bringing young players in to develop, to improve, give them that experience and then hopefully they become better players because they need to get that experience."
