KUHN CONTINUES TO SILENCE THE DOUBTERS, BUT DOES HE KEEP HIS PLACE?

One of the most heavily rotated positions on the park for Celtic this season has been on the wings. In the first half of the season, long-term injuries to the likes of Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda had crippled Celtic's options, with Mikey Johnston started a few Premiership games and James Forrest even starting in crucial Champions League group stage clashes.

A lack of high quality options led to Celtic going in search of a new winger in January, and Nicolas Kühn was the winger signed for a fee worth a reported £3.5million.

Nicolas Kühn was a divisive player in his first few appearances, but now he looks to be silencing a lot of the critics in his last few starts, taking full advantage of a suspension for Yang Hyun-jun and an injury to Luis Palma.

Given his impressive recent performances, does Nicolas Kühn keep his place in the team following the international break?

How is Kühn silencing the doubters?

In his early performances, Kühn was failing to set the world alight in the green and white. He looked incredibly lightweight and showed a hesitancy to really drive forward and take on a man, leading to many Celtic supporters having doubts over whether the winger was going to be another flop signed under the guidance of Mark Lawwell.

However, a switch flipped in his performance levels when he was afforded a start against Livingston in the Scottish Cup quarter-final following an injury to Luis Palma, and the German wide-man took his chance. He was electric from the off as he constantly caused problems for Cristian Montaño down the right-hand side, flashing plenty of crosses across the face of goal.

He provided a perfect assist for one of Daizen Maeda's three goals, and was incredibly effective in helping Celtic break quickly up the field.

He was rewarded for that performance with another start yesterday against St Johnstone, and once again he took his chance.

Kühn was the most impressive performer for the Hoops against the Saints, always looking to get forward and providing yet another brilliant assist for Kyogo Furuhashi's goal that opened the scoring on the afternoon.

His influence on the game never waned in the second-half, scoring his first goal at Celtic Park after Furuhashi returned the favour, laying a chance on a plate for the German who converted from close range.

Given another chance to impress, he one-upped that performance against Livingston, but will he continue to ride this wave of momentum after the international break?

Where does Yang Hyun-jun fit in?

We can't forget that Yang hyun-jun was finding his footing and beginning to hit his stride in a Celtic shirt before an untimely and controversial red card at Tynecastle against Hearts forced him out of the team.

He was showcasing a similar willingness to get forward and drive the team on, and Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that Yang can pick up where he left off when he returns from that suspension at Almondvale.

However, it would be unfair to drop Nicolas Kühn from the team with him playing so well, so for now, Yang Hyun-jun will have to settle for the bench.
